




Overview
We are looking for art and design mentors to support children and young people with a variety of wellbeing and educational needs. Building their knowledge and skillsets in a variety of creative artforms, instilling them with key transferable life skills and providing opportunities for them to grow and succeed.
Duties
- Deliver 1:1 and 2:1 creative sessions
- Build young people’s knowledge and skillsets in creative arts
- Develop individualised learning plans based on students’ individual needs
- Assist students in understanding subject-specific content
- Provide feedback to students and parents on progress
- Utilise various teaching methods to engage students
- Support students with special education needs
Mandatory
- Experience in Art and Design
- Enhanced DBS – On Update Service

- PLI Insurance
Desired
- Experience working within alternative provision setting (this is not compulsory)
- Experience working with children
- Experience working with SEND – a high number of young people here have Autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties
- Comfortable working in an environment around other coaches and other young people
- Proficiency in tutoring and educating students
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous
- Diverse range of creative disciplines required (see below for desired)
- Illustration, fine art, textiles, graphic design, design technology, photography
- Understanding of Adobe creative Cloud (preferable but not mandatory)
Pay
- £25/hr 1:1 session
- 2:1 sessions and pay TBD
