MBN Arts recently welcomed young people, families, educators, creative industry and local authority professionals, and members of the local community to its Student’s Summer Arts Exhibition, celebrating the creativity, achievements and personal growth.
The exhibition featured artwork by young people aged 8–21 across a wide range of creative disciplines, including illustration, fine art painting, sculpture, model making, original music, printmaking, costume design, garment construction and large-scale spray-painted artworks. Alongside pieces created specifically for the exhibition, visitors were also able to view work produced as part of GCSE and A Level creative arts qualifications. The event provided a valuable opportunity for young people to showcase their talents, build confidence and share their creative journeys with the wider community, highlighting the transformative impact that creativity can have on education, wellbeing and future aspirations.
MBN ARTS Director, Mike Ness said:
“We are all immensely proud of all the young people’s achievements. The standard of their work was fantastic and the feedback from those that attended, was incredible. To see the young people experience first hand people collectively discussing and admiring their work was amazing. To share their work with one person can be difficult enough, but for them to be brave enough to exhibit their creations in front of over 120 people this evening is incredible and shows great resilience and I hope the feeling of achievement and pride stays with them, fuelling confidence in their learning and lives moving forward.”
We also welcomed Labour PM for Boscombe East, Tom Hayes to the exhibition, who joined the celebration of their work. Tom kindly sent our young people individual congratulation letters, which we have now presented to them. In additional, on the 8th of July 2026, Tom discussed our exhibition and provision in parliament debates at the Houses of Commons.
