MBN ARTS partnered with AFCB and BCP to achieve this incredible youth inspired mural in Boscombe. The brief was to design and spray paint a large scale mural on an underpass that is used by many home and away fans on the way to the AFCB football matches at the Vitality stadium. The aim was to playfully communicate the identify of Bournemouth, the football team AFCB and all the groups associated with them, as-well as acting as way-finding for the stadium.
MBN ARTS coach Mike visited Iford Academy and delivered a spray painting workshop with a class of students. As well as experiencing the artform for themselves, they idea generated ideas for the mural’s design to inspire the artists final artwork. Using these ideas, MBN ARTS’ artist Humble Cherub got to work, designing the mural, sketching and doodling away until the idea was finalised.
Time to paint the mural and after 16 days of painting, this awesome young people inspired artwork was complete, showcasing the pier, beaches, ocean, sea creatures, sand castles, AFCB football players of all genders, lettering and much more! We held a celebratory opening with all involved parties. What a fantastic project and well done to all!
