McMullen Barracks – Ministry of Defence, Hampshire

This large scale mural was produced for the 17 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps at the McMullen Barracks in Hampshire and was funded by a donation from Associated British Ports (ABP) Southampton. Portraying the Maritime history from 1940 to present day, paying tribute to events such as Operation Overlord (D-Day and the Battle of Normandy) to the Falklands Conflict (Operation Corporate) and the Gulf Wars (Operations Granby and Telic).

The MBN ARTS artist Owain Nicholls Humble Cherub created the mural through the medium of spray paint and other artistic mediums, taking inspiration from discussions with military veterans and active serving members of the 17 Port and Maritime Regiment. The large scale mural included imagery captured from historic photographs, which included veterans in active duty, who now have been included in the artwork themselves.
