BCP – Woodland Underpass

Our company was approached by BCP Council to regenerate and transform the walls and ceiling of a 78ft pedestrian underpass in Boscombe, Bournemouth. We wanted the chosen concept to connect with the local community, therefore we decided upon a design that portrays the surrounding natural environment and wildlife, including heathlands, woodlands and the coast.

Once this was decided, we launched a design competition for local primary schools, where their students were challenged to create their own take on the artwork. From the winning design entry, the final realisation was made, including the vision and input also of artist Humble Cherub, who would be completing the final painting.

Here is the final outcome, 1one huge community artwork! The feedback from the public both during the painting and after has been incredible, as they feel it has really improved the area, and has made the space more desirable to use.
