Collages

Layers of meaning come together as our young people create dynamic collages using an eclectic mix of materials – from magazine clippings and photographs to fabric scraps and natural elements. Students develop compositional skills and visual storytelling abilities while exploring themes that matter to them, learning how different textures, colours, and images can combine to create powerful new narratives and artistic statements.

Whether they’re crafting personal identity pieces, creating abstract compositions, or building detailed narrative scenes, collage work encourages students to think creatively about juxtaposition, symbolism, and visual communication. The collaborative process of sharing materials and discussing artistic choices helps students develop both critical thinking skills and confidence in their ability to communicate complex ideas through the thoughtful arrangement of found and created elements.
