Favourite Rabbit – Original Song

Rex the Rabbit – A Musical Celebration Over the course of several sessions, IR composed an original song dedicated to MBN’s beloved Rex the Rabbit, who’s previously made visits to our music department. The song started with IR ad-libbing vocal takes, and before long, the infectious hook ‘OUR FAAAAVOURITE RAAAABBIT’ was stuck in everyone’s heads for the rest of the week!

Throughout the creative process, IR made key musical decisions that shaped the song’s sound. They selected the chord progression, carefully choosing between major and minor chords that complemented each other, and determined the tempo to give the track its energy.

IR also chose the guitar tones, rhythm sections, and drum sounds that brought their vision to life. To add depth to the arrangement, we enlisted our talented coach Roksana to contribute backing vocals, creating rich harmonies that elevated the song. The finishing touches came with the addition of cellos and strings, giving Rex the grand musical tribute he deserves. This project showcased IR’s creative thinking, harnessed with music production and her ability to make choices across multiple elements of songwriting, song form and arrangement.
