More information about this project
MBN ARTS were approached by the organisation Culture in Common and the Handy Trust from Hampshire, to deliver a creative project for Hythe Youth Centre in Hampshire. This project was delivered over 4 sessions, where 120 young people participated in street art activities. After developing their creative skillsets, the young people created concept illustrations to inspire the final mural design for their youth centre’s internal walls. The ideas communicated a variety of activities and topics the young people associated with their youth centre. A select group was then chosen for the final day of painting, seeing them use their new spray painting skillsets to complete the mural. The MBN ARTS team, supported the group throughout and at the end tidied up the design with extra details.
And like that… the youth centre was transformed! Now an exciting, inclusive environment, where the current and new young people can enjoy it and can feel at home, with an artwork created by them to be proud of!
