More info on the project
For six weeks, three students from Jewell Academy Bournemouth took on the challenge of creating a collaborative mixed media artwork to beast displayed at their school. The concept was to communicate the unity of the students and teachers at the school, and to celebrate the diversity of the creative arts.
This project saw them explore a diverse range of creative pathways, skill sets and ideas, including woodwork and crafting, collage, textiles, upcycling, recycling, illustration and spray-painting. Each discovering a new passion and interest as they experienced each activity. The artwork grew each week, until the final details were finished. The artwork was then hung upon a wall within their school, to be celebrated by all who shared the space.
