More information about this project

Transformation and sustainability merge as our young people breathe new life into discarded materials, turning forgotten objects into vibrant, functional creations. Students develop both environmental awareness and creative problem-solving skills while learning to see potential in unexpected places, combining practical techniques with artistic vision to give materials a meaningful second chance.

Whether they’re reimagining furniture, transforming clothing, or converting everyday objects into decorative pieces, upcycling challenges students to think innovatively about waste, resources, and creative possibilities. The process encourages resourcefulness and planning skills while celebrating the satisfaction of creating something beautiful and useful from materials that might otherwise be thrown away, fostering both environmental consciousness and pride in sustainable creativity.

“To practise any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.”
– Kurt Vonnegut –
